Nandini Van is an intention to connect the spirit of Rural India with the sanitation laboratories in cities. It was envisioned and designed in 2008 as a collective experiment. It is a self-sufficient van-like unit that doubles as a caravan.
Over a span of about 5 years, Nandini has worked in more than 466 villages in Gujarat. More than 620 volunteers have accompanied him over the years, in groups of 10-15, each time committing to 4-5 days of hard physical labour of love in the village. And all this has been made possible by contributions of peers in the villages and cities.
